Why are they trying to convince us that here mouths are killing corona?
Mouthwashes and toothpastes that contain certain substances can effectively destroy the corona virus in the mouth - according to a number of recently published studies.
But experts warn that this is only a temporary effect that does not stop the spread of the virus in the body

Can mouthwashes and toothpastes that contain certain substances neutralize the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes corona inside the mouths of carriers and patients, thus making them less contagious?
A number of recent clinical trials and trials conducted in several places around the world claim so.
Already at an early stage of the epidemic, about six months ago, we reported here on this emerging possibility.
And in recent weeks, two more different studies on the subject have been published.
But what is behind them and is it really possible that mouthwash and toothpaste will eradicate the corona virus?

One study, sponsored by Colgate, showed that toothpaste and mouthwash neutralize 99.9% of the virus that causes Covid-19.
The company said that clinical research is currently underway, to validate the potential of oral health products to help slow the spread of the virus.
99.9 percent of the corona virus is destroyed in a short time.

Laboratory tests have shown that toothpastes containing zinc or stanus fluoride and mouthwashes containing the substance Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC) neutralize the virus that causes corona disease by 99.9%.
These tests were performed as part of Colgate's research program that includes clinical trials conducted in Corona patients, to evaluate the effectiveness of oral health products in reducing the amount of virus in the mouth, and their potential in slowing the spread of the virus.
Laboratory tests tested Colgate Total and Meridol toothpastes and found that they neutralized 99.9% of the virus after two minutes of contact.
Mouthwash Colgate Flex and Colgate Total were equally effective (99.9%) already after thirty seconds.
The studies, completed in October, were conducted in collaboration with the Rutgers New Jersey School of Public Health Research Institute (NJMS).

Another recent study in the UK examined the effect of Dentyl brand mouthwash - Cardiff University researchers conducted a 12-week clinical trial and found that Dentil's mouthwash was able to destroy the corona virus within 30 seconds.
These mouthwashes also contain CPC similar to the mouthwashes tested in a Rutgers University experiment.
The effect of mouthwash is temporary, and in any case the virus is present in other places in the body.

According to the initiators of the study, the results suggest that certain toothpastes and mouthwashes may help reduce the spread of the virus that causes coronary heart disease, SARS-CoV-2, by temporarily reducing the viral load in the mouth.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the corona virus spreads through droplets or small particles produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, sings, talks or breathes.
Who here will not end the plague
However, experts want to make it clear that mouthwash and toothpaste may not be the solution that will end the epidemic.
This is because while there are quite a few substances that are effective in the relatively rapid destruction of the virus when they come in contact with it, they do not uproot the problem and prevent it from replicating within the body.
The coronavirus continues to produce copies of itself within the cells in the upper respiratory tract - in the nose, sinuses, throat, bronchi and lungs.
"Anecdotal, marketing and unimportant studies."

"It is quite likely that mouthwashes will temporarily reduce the viral load in the mouth. They simply disinfect and neutralize almost all viruses and bacteria that come in contact with them," says Prof. Udi Kimron, a lecturer at Tel Aviv University School of Medicine and a specialist in virology and microbiology.
"I estimate that if I do research on whiskey - I will also find that drinking whiskey temporarily reduces the viral load. I may also receive funding for such research from Jonathan the Walk (Johnny Walker) or Jacob Daniel (Jack Daniels). But such disinfectants do not really reduce "The secretion of the virus. The source of the virus is in the cells of the body, and it will continue to be secreted immediately after using the mouthwash."
Prof. Kimron added that in his opinion, these are anecdotal, marketing, and meaningless studies.
