A metal monolith has appeared on a hill overlooking the town of Piatra Neamt, in northeast Romania.

A mysterious discovery that echoes the discovery, on November 18, of a similar American stele in the Utah desert.

A structure which moreover vanished three days before the discovery of the Romanian monolith, on November 26, which also finally disappeared just a few days after appearing.

Images of the four-meter-high pillar were first released last week by local media.

Alerted Thursday by an email, the radio station Jurnal FM immediately went to the scene to check.

“We were surprised, to say the least, to discover a metal structure covered with spiral patterns,” explains the radio on its website.

"Not able to make a reply worthy of the name"

If the Romanian press took little interest in the matter, social networks gave it their all.

In a video posted on Facebook, a man quipped about what he described as a vulgar reproduction of the Utah monolith: "In reality, it is only an old piece of junk that someone has put there", can we hear him say.

"We are not even able to make a proper replica," Alexandru wrote, while others noted the obvious presence of solder marks.

Indeed, everything suggests that the Romanian work is in no way comparable with that discovered in the desert of Utah.
