The reason for the recall is
ethylene oxide
.
The
plant protection
product
has been banned
in Germany in the food industry *
since 1981
.
In the European Union, ethylene oxide is now also classified as potentially harmful.
The chemical is
carcinogenic
in the
long term

high doses, is extremely hazardous to health

Symptoms such as headache, dizziness and nausea may occur on contact.
In severe cases, twitching, spasms and comatose conditions can occur.
