A disgruntled car driver in Saarbrücken hit a speed camera trailer with a sledge hammer and tried to destroy it.
The unknown man was disturbed by witnesses on Wednesday evening when he hit the trailer with a hammer, the police said.
He then fled with a woman in a nearby car.
According to the police, the speed camera was only externally damaged and was still functional.
A police spokesman could not say whether the man had been flashed before the hammer attack.
