Apple tightens privacy and requires all applications - be it for Mac computers, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch or Apple TVs - to post a label that makes it clear to users what their data is used and how.

The Californian company, again with a view to transparency, tonight also updated the section of its site dedicated to privacy, as well as the privacy policy that is shown to those who use Apple's products and services.

Apple has already begun asking developers to provide information on data processing since last week, kicking off the "new course" announced at the June developer conference, and which plans to provide people with an easily understandable summary about apps. similar to the ingredient list on supermarket products, so you can make informed decisions.

This is an "ambitious program", underlines Cupertino, which describes privacy as an "inalienable human right".

In the label, which is called "privacy information" and employs new icons to make it easier to understand, there are three tabs: the data used to track the user, which links for advertising purposes the information about the person or device collected by a app with info collected from other apps or sites;

data linked to the person, related to the account, device or identity such as browsing history, purchases or location;

and data not related to the person.

"We don't ask developers to change apps or business models, it's just a matter of transparently telling users what data is collected", highlights Apple, stating that the rules also apply to all of the company's products.

More information to consumers then comes from the new section of the site on privacy where, in compliance with the GDPR, it also explains what personal data consists of, and an overview is given on the protection of confidentiality also ensured by Apple products.

These include the Safari browser, which prevents advertisers from following the Internet user from one site to another, and the Maps that do not keep the history of their movements.
