These users will no longer be able to download new content on the platform, also specifies a blog post published on the Pornhub site.

,” said Pornhub, based in Montreal, but a subsidiary of MindGeek based in Luxembourg.

Pornhub also claims to have "

suspended all previously uploaded content that was not created by content partners or members of the model program

," which verifies that the actors and actresses are of legal age.

According to Pornhub, such "

terms of service

" have yet to be implemented by popular social networks like "

Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat and Twitter

".

This tightening of the content published on Pornhub, pointed out for several years, comes after Mastercard and Visa dropped the site in the wake of a New York Times article claiming it offered illegal content.

Among the 6.8 million new videos published on the site each year, "

many show child abuse and unwanted violence

," added the American daily.

Pornhub, which recorded 42 billion visits in 2019, takes the example of content showing sexual abuse against children and claims to have hosted much less than Facebook.

"

," denounces the site.

Pornhub believes it is the subject of a campaign by organizations "

dedicated to the abolition of pornography
