On the occasion of the 175th anniversary of his poet, philosopher and enlightenment Abaj Kunanbaev, born in 1845, the Embassy of Kazakhstan inaugurated the cultural center dedicated to him on Tuesday 15 December in its Roman headquarters, celebrating the memory of the thinker also with his work omnia in the first Italian edition by Mondadori.
A ceremony on the eve of the 29th anniversary of the country's independence that saw numerous participants, many of them virtually connected due to the pandemic.
"There are many political representatives and artists who take part in this event with which we celebrate the inauguration of the cultural center dedicated to Abaj and the Italian translation of his work, which will finally be known" also in this country, Asset Baisynov underlined. , head of the economic office at the Kazakh embassy, who insisted on the bond created by art and culture, thanks to which differences are overcome and we focus on what remains, what we all see "beings belonging to the human race ".
In this regard, the intervention of the honorary consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in San Marino, Giovanni Pomponi, who read with enthusiasm a poem by Abaj contained in the Italian book, strongly desired by the Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was moved.
"This is a very important moment for our and your culture, I will recommend everyone to read this work by Abaj and thank you so much", declared Pomponi.
His words were echoed by Sergio Moscati and Nicolò Andrea Gatto, honorary consuls of Kazakhstan in Naples and Milan respectively.
Both have in fact given their contribution so that Abaj's work was also known in our country, and Moscati did not hide the difficulty of the path undertaken, which culminated in the success of the publication with a giant of national publishing.
Gatto highlighted "the necessary balance between mind and heart" proposed by the thought of Abaj, a concept also taken up by some scholars who spoke.
Edoardo Canetta, university professor, explained the poetics that sees the relationship between will, mind and heart, Abaj's "continuous investigation into the world around us and the search for truth", while his colleague Elisabetta Ragagnin highlighted how the father of Kazakh literature has combined the traditions of the East and those of the West "in a perfect form".
The book, entitled 'Abaj', is a volume of about 500 pages and collects the poems, poems and other writings of a central figure in Kazakhstan's thought and literature, but not only.
In fact, Abaj was also a translator of authors such as Lermontov, Goethe, Byron and Puskin, who influenced his production by making him a real link between various worlds.
