The Irish Data Protection Authority has imposed a fine of approximately 564 billion dollars on the US company for failing to document or notify the authority properly within 72 hours of the data breach suffered in January 2019, which revealed the private tweets of some users. .
The case could be a wake-up call in the long-running series of privacy disputes involving tech companies in Ireland, including Facebook, Apple and Alphabet, which have their regional headquarters in this country.
