"Judy": the rise and fall of a star
MYCANAL.
London, 1968. The city is in turmoil with the arrival of Judy Garland who comes to perform in a large hall.
The star, then aged 46, lives on her legend: this child of the ball has been singing on stage since she was 3 years old and owes her fame to the “Wizard of Oz” (1939).
But when she arrives in the UK with her two children, she is rejected by Hollywood, ruined, ill, addicted to drugs and alcohol, and has a suicide attempt behind her.
Her return to the stage will temporarily transcend her… Little was known about the end of Judy Garland's career, and "Judy", following the star in the last year of her life - with flashbacks - paints the portrait of a exceptional woman.
Judy is lost, plagued by money problems and her addictions, and suffers from a need for recognition and love that no one can fill - she will die soon after.
Renée Zellweger, unrecognizable, delivers an incredible performance.

"El Cid": a historical epic

A big Spanish production, “El Cid” features an important figure in Hispanic history: Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, nicknamed El Cid or El Campeador, who lived in the 11th century.
In France, he is best known for being the hero of Corneille's play “le Cid”.
At the start of the series, the young man, who has just lost his father, is sent to the capital of the kingdom of Castile and Leon, to be a page.
He is in the service of Sancho, the heir of King Ferdinand I.
With conflicts increasing between the Spanish monarchies, Rodrigo, nicknamed Ruy, will be able to prove himself in combat and become a revolutionary hero.
It is Jaime Lorente, star of the series "La Casa de papel" and "Elite" on Netflix, who plays the title role.
This epic saga combines romance, battles and betrayals, so many ingredients that make it an entertainment that is as impressive as it is captivating.

Teacher in danger in "After you, chaos"

Far from the flashy atmosphere of the series for teenagers "Elite" that he co-created on Netflix, the Spanish Carlos Montero is adapting one of his books here.
In "After You Chaos", the heroine, Raquel, is a literature professor who accepts a position in her husband's hometown.
As soon as she arrives, she struggles to find a place for herself: the students are particularly hostile to her, she receives death threats, and the shadow of the one who preceded her at her post, Viruca, weighs heavily on her.
Especially when she discovers that the latter has committed suicide.
Thanks to a constant back and forth between the past and the present, the lives of the two women are revealed in parallel on the screen.
Among the young people who manhandle their teacher, we find the actor Aron Piper, one of the best of "Elite".
The dark and suffocating setting, in a small town where everyone knows each other and where secrets are legion, gives tension to the series whose mystery works in full despite some unnecessary detours.
