(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 22 - AstraZeneca has made it known that its vaccine is effective against the coronavirus variant discovered in Great Britain, specifying that studies are still underway to fully probe the impact of the mutation.
The Guardian reports it.
"AZD1222 (AstraZeneca's vaccine) contains the genetic material of the coronavirus spike protein and the genetic code changes observed in this new viral strain do not appear to change the structure of the spike protein," said a spokesperson for the pharmaceutical company. (HANDLE).
