Christmas holidays: five ideas to occupy the children

2020-12-24T12:23:09.057Z

Workshops, interactive shows, dance lessons ... At home or outside, here is a selection of activities to keep the youngest busy.

Impossible to go to the theater, to the concert, to attend a show.

Whatever, we can still go out and have a good time with the family.

Here is a selection of activities.

EXIT.

Wonderful Vaux-le-Vicomte

If the castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte (Seine-et-Marne) is closed, its splendid French garden and an outer wing of the crew museum are open to the public, by reservation.

Visitors have flocked there since the holidays, with 3800 entries recorded last weekend!

At nightfall, a mapping magnifies the rear facade of the castle.

The 8-minute projection, to music, throws ivy in an atmosphere of spring, snow, strips of gold.

We attend a majestic party where the guests are animals in period costumes.

When they arrive, children roast their marshmallows on braziers on the terrace of the Orangerie.

In the distance, a 5 m squirrel, all in lights, allows families to decipher the paper of the treasure hunt.

A quest for the sword to follow along the signs planted in the gardens.

"We won at the end of the figurines and a cake, that's great", get carried away Chloé and Chléa, who came with their mother from Massy.

The castle did not skimp on resources, despite the Covid, by installing 4 km of garlands, like last year, a large luminous angel.

Toddlers scribble their dreams on paper, which they hang on a wish tree.

Ophélie, who lives a few kilometers away with her three children, had never been to Vaux.

“We don't have the means, we are taking advantage of the Christmas of my works council which replaced the show with this outing, it's really very nice and the staff is pleasant.

In the aisles, the agents in red capes inform the public with a smile.

Catherine took her two grandchildren, whom she looks after during the holidays: “It's a magical place at night with all these lights.

It is true that we have released board games, coloring pages and Disney and Netflix cartoons.

But what a joy to take the air!

"

In the twilight, few visitors see the giant wooden games.

Two children are laughing around a Power 4, near mikados and a ring toss.

A word of advice for parents of small children: prefer the baby carrier to the tiring stroller to roll in the stone paths.

Until January 3, carriage rides (at an additional cost), loan of small wooden sailboats from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., mapping at 5.30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.

Access from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (restricted hours on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1).

INTERACTIVE SHOW.

Magic Eric Antoine

“Connexions”, an interactive magic and humor show, by Eric Antoine, on Zoom.

Until January 30.

LP / Valentine Rousseau

“Connexions” was to stop on December 27, but faced with the success of reservations, Eric Antoine is extending his digital show.

Tuesday evening, 601 families were connected live with the magician, for an hour of sweet madness.

Eric Antoine could flip through all the “pages” of spectators on his big screen.

The public was invited to sit in disguise and most of them played along. Red wigs, Christmas tree balls, banana jumpsuits, Christmas sweaters, zombie heads or flower necklaces, these French people love the party.

Between two magic tricks, Eric Antoine makes them appear big.

Shy viewers who don't want to be spotted may turn off the camera early on.

Others get excited in their sofa, surrounded by light garlands, so that Eric Antoine clicks on their paper clips in full screen mode.

The magician pays homage to his mother Françoise, has a sheet of toilet paper torn up, the audience guessing cards, a spectator drink his glass of vegetable milk and bluffs with his predictions.

The audience has fun, applauds by waving their hands like the hard of hearing, and disconnects in a dropper when Eric Antoine says goodbye.

No desire to break this parenthesis of laughter, this magical connection of reunion around an artist.

Connections, on Zoom, until January 30, at 4 p.m. or 8 p.m.

25 euros per connected household.
