Polar bears, brown bears, pandas and even lions: each species was entitled to a tree to which were hung pieces of fruit or cut meat.
"Not only are these young lions celebrating their first birthday, but for the first time they also have a Christmas tree decorated with pieces of meat, rabbit, turkey legs", explains Nicole Marszalek, lion caregiver at the Berlin Zoological Garden. .

In the polar bear enclosure at the Berlin Zoo, the apples attached to the branches of the fir tree were quickly eaten by the two residents.
