Covid: less than 9,000 positives, but rate still rises to 14.8%

There are 8,913 swab positives for coronavirus in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The victims are 305. (ANSA)


(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 27 - There are 8,913 coronavirus swab positives in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

The victims are 305. The numbers keep track of those of the autonomous province of Bolzano, which had not been communicated yesterday and which today gave rise to an unricalcolo.


    59,879 swabs were processed, while yesterday there were 81,285.

Today's positivity rate is 14.88%, a further increase compared to 12.8% yesterday (+ 2%).


    Yesterday the positives in Italy were 10,407, the deaths 261. Total from the beginning of the epidemic, the registered cases are 2,047,696, 71,925.

The currently positive are 581,760 (+819), the same are put in and healed 1,394,011 (+7,813).


    Patients in intensive care for Covid-19 are down by 2, in the balance between admissions and exits.

The daily admissions are 148. In total there are 2,580 inmates in intensive care.

The people treated in the ordinary wards are instead 23,571, up by 267 units compared to yesterday.

There are now 555,609 people in house isolation, an increase of 554 compared to yesterday.


    According to data from the Ministry of Health, the regions that recorded the greatest number of positive tampons in the last 24 hours are Veneto 3,337, Emilia Romagna 1,283, Lazio 977, Sicily 682, Piedmont 470, Lombardy 466. Molise has only one case.
