Even one day after the plane crash in Indonesia, divers are still looking for debris in the sea.

As the army chief announced on Sunday, the flight recorder of the missing Boeing 737-500 has now been located.

Hadi Tjahjanto, Army Chief Indonesia

“There were two signals coming from the black boxes.

They send continuously so that we could determine their coordinates.

Hopefully we can recover it soon and hand it over to the National Road Safety Committee to determine the cause of the crash. "

The Indonesian passenger plane disappeared from the radar shortly after taking off from Jakarta on Saturday.

The Boing 737-500 was on its way to Pontianak, a town on the neighboring island of Borneo.

After that, her fate was initially uncertain - on Sunday it became clear: the machine crashed in the Java Sea.

A total of 62 people were on board.

In addition to wreckage, the emergency services were also able to recover items of clothing and body parts.

At the destination airport in Borneo, the police began to take DNA samples from family members of the passengers in order to identify the victims.

Rafiq Yusuf al Idrus, relative

“The last time she contacted me on Whatsapp was at 2:05 pm.

She laughed and said that she had already got on the plane and was told that the weather conditions are not good.

Then I said, "Let's pray that everything will go well."

How the plane crash came about is still unclear.

The Boeing was reportedly 27 years old and has been owned by Sriwijaya Air since 2012. As data from the Swedish Internet service Flightradar24 show, the plane lost more than 3,300 meters altitude within one minute just four minutes after take-off.

When it comes to aviation, the Southeast Asian island paradise is one of the most unsafe countries in the world.

Most recently, in 2018, a Boeing 737 Max of the Indonesian company Lion Air crashed into the sea shortly after taking off from Jakarta.

All 189 inmates were killed.
