From north to south, the exhibitors of bars and restaurants protest

.

In Trento, the "white aprons"

of Fipe-Confcommercio, Fiepet-Confesercenti and the Association of public businesses of Trentino, about 250 entrepreneurs, met with their cars and moved in procession to the Government Commissariat.

They met the prefect Sandro Lombardi and symbolically handed him their aprons as a sign of protest for the stalemate created, with restricted and penalizing hours, obligations and prohibitions.

"Our category has 3,500 companies in Trentino, which have faced the pandemic with responsibility and investments, trying to make our places as safe as possible", says Marco Fontanari, president of Fipe. Government Commissioner Sandro Lombardi assured that "yours document and my report will be sent already in the morning to the competent ministries so that a focus is made on the situation of your category, which is penalized to the maximum. I ask you to grit your teeth, it is time for compactness and unity, let's try to face the months that will come together, with determination and pride ".

In Bari, in Puglia, a table has been set with plates, glasses and cutlery in the center of Piazza della Libertà,

in front of the Prefecture building, to ask for "immediate answers and refreshments".

The protest initiative was organized by a group of restaurateurs from Bari against the restrictions on their activities imposed by the health emergency.

"We are starting today an indefinite garrison in a symbolic place that we have chosen as a meeting point - explains Gianni Del Mastro -. We ask to be listened to, to be received by the prefect so that she can speak with the Government of our despair. December was a terrible month and if no help arrives in January, half of our business will close and go bankrupt ".

In front of the set table they placed a banner with the words "If we fail, no, you fail. Catering must be protected".

For the next few days, they announce indefinite garrisons and a hunger strike.

Even

in Turin, bars and restaurants are on a war footing

against the hypothesis of a further squeeze, and protest initiatives are born on social media with the threat of 'civil disobedience' and the opening of places closed for too long.

"The now too long period of drastic limitations and closures of public establishments is burying an entire sector, depriving it of the possibility of restarting - explains Claudio Ferraro, director of EPAT Turin - we do not think that hypothesizing limitations to those small windows of activity is correct, plausible and not even useful; it only serves to further aggravate the economy of public establishments ".

In Padua,

a long black carpet was spread in front of the Prefecture, to denounce the serious difficulty of many sectors of the service sector, bars and restaurants and shops.

"Without adequate and immediate refreshments - said the regional president of Confcommercio Patrizio Bertin - in the coming weeks, thousands of businesses will be forced to close".

In particular, the restriction announced by the Government in the next Dpcm, the prohibition for public establishments to take away from 6 pm for the sit-in, Confcommercio has chosen a symbolic place, the prefecture, territorial seat of the government, to recall the attention to a situation that has become unsustainable for businesses.

On the ground, a twenty-meter-long carpet was spread, divided into bands: yellow, orange, then red and finally, much longer than the first three sections, black.
