The Ministry of Health updated today (Saturday) that in the Central Laboratory for Viruses additional cases with the South African mutation were detected through a sequencing process.
A total of 12 patients carrying the variant have been identified so far.
The four cases now identified are of returning from the UAE.
They came out positive on first inspection at Ben Gurion Airport.
The Ministry of Health said it would continue to update on further findings, as they were.
Meanwhile, tomorrow is expected to expire the decision requiring returnees from South African countries, Botswana, Zambia or Soto in solitary confinement on behalf of the country for 10 days (with two negative tests for Corona virus) or for 14 days without tests.
It is a new mutation in the corona virus, which within a month has become a dominant strain in the rate of infections and morbidity in South Africa.
