Abigail Jiménez,
the twelve-year-old girl with cancer
who became notorious when her father carried her in his arms to cross the border between Tucumán and Santiago del Estero, died.
Her picture was so serious that her parents had decided to transfer her to her home in Las Termas de Río Hondo, where she died this Sunday minutes before 8 p.m.
Abigail's father told Clarín that this Sunday Abigail asked them to take her for a walk as they did every day, but in the middle of the walk she asked to go home, and they did.
"Her death was not surprising because we already saw that God wanted to take her," said through tears, the man who was portrayed in the photo carrying his sick daughter in his arms.
The girl's case made national news as a result of an incident at the Yutu Yaco road control - which was recorded in a video - when her father picked her up in his arms and crossed the border on foot because a policeman would not let the vehicle pass He was bringing her back from Tucumán for health reasons, since she was requesting authorization.
