(ANSA) - AOSTA, 06 FEB - Three climbers - the Icelandic JohnSnorri, the Pakistani Ali Sadpara and the Chilean Juan Pablo Mohr - are missing on K2 where they were engaged in the attempt to ascend to the summit.
Chang Dawa Sherpache is at base camp reports via social media: "We haven't had any news for more than 30 hours and their GPS trackers are off".
The Italian Tamara Lungerche was also involved in the attempt and managed to descend to the advanced base camp.
During the descent, due to a fall, the Bulgarian Atanas Skatov lost his life.
The overflight of a Pakistani army helicopter to search for the three climbers was unsuccessful.
The aircraft reached 7,000 meters of altitude, but was unable to continue with the research due to the weather conditions (in particular the strong wind and poor visibility), now it has returned to Skardu.
