Sources in the Ministry of Health claim that the corona commander in the ultra-Orthodox sector, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Roni Noma, is not doing enough to prevent the mass violations in the ultra-Orthodox cities - and is guilty of his job.

This is despite the fact that the rate of infection in ultra-Orthodox society has decreased, and the scope of events - demonstrations, funerals and weddings - has been reduced.

In Beitar Illit, for example, several events took place over the weekend on the occasion of the arrival of Rabbi Chaim Weiss.

During the Sabbath the rabbi delivered speeches in various synagogues, for an audience of more than five people in a closed building.

Such incidents, say the sources, occur quite a bit, and there are ways to stop them, but in their opinion, Noma is not doing enough to prevent this.

"He has a desire to eat the cake and leave it intact. The desire for dialogue outweighs the interest of managing the event. Heads of authorities who have violations receive a forgiving and conciliatory message, and not enough encouragement. It is sublime to understand how such an event is publicized The default, would it be on the agenda? "

They added: "We understand that it is difficult to fight against Talmud Torah, but it is possible to blow up weddings in creative ways. Bnei Brak launched a beautiful vaccination campaign this weekend, but why did they not do it a month ago. As far as we see Noma is not doing enough. He is a good man. "But there is a need for managerial acts, to intervene, to demand and to act. In our opinion, he should have laid down the keys months ago. There are violations that are made with his knowledge and he winks at them."

A spokesman for the Beitar Illit municipality responded: "As can be seen, the ad explicitly states that the events took place according to the guidelines. I will note that on days when the mayor comes to live in it, thousands go out to meet him. Due to the situation, there were limited classes."

Roni Noma did not respond to "Israel Today" inquiries.
