The police in Fulda, Hesse, found a body in a car early Monday morning.

The man was apparently shot.

As the police announced, the lifeless body was discovered around 4.45 a.m. in the Neuenberg district.

The victim is a 41-year-old man.

According to a report in the "Fuldaer Zeitung", the man shot is said to have worked in a bakery.

So he was traveling in his own car.

The body had gunshot wounds, according to police.

It is still unclear whether these were also responsible for the death.

An autopsy had been ordered.

The area around the site was cordoned off to secure evidence.

Specialists from the Hessian State Criminal Police Office were also on duty, as well as a sniffer dog and a drone.

The police are investigating in all directions.

Potential witnesses have been asked to report.
