Mauro Bellugi
, former footballer of Inter, Bologna and the Italian national team, died at the age of 71.
Bellugi, whose legs had been amputated last December, died this morning in a hospital in Milan.
After being
infected with the coronavirus
, he had suffered a
thrombosis
.
Both of his legs had been amputated, but he continued to have serious problems.
Tomorrow, in the derby, Inter will remember him with mourning on his arm and a minute of silence.
Mourning in the arm also for Bologna tonight.

So Inter Milan, in a tweet
, wanted to pay homage to Mauro Bellugi.
"If football is so loved it is because when the stories of the pitch become life stories, the players are not just champions but examples. Mauro Bellugi for football and for Inter was this: a fighter, a faithful teammate , an esteemed opponent ", reads the memory of Inter on its website with which the Nerazzurri club paid tribute to the former defender who died today.
"His warrior spirit has always accompanied him, from the battles to become 'great' to the more difficult ones that characterized the last period of his life - continues the club -. He had turned 71 on February 7 and until last he wanted to leave the world a message of strength and hope, he told the beauty of football and life, the one for which it is worth fighting and was rewarded by the embrace of everyone, his fans, teammates, opponents and of the people who recognized in him that example of life that today becomes more precious than ever ".
"In his history there is strength, determination, joy, love and hope. Hello Mauro", concludes Inter in his homage to Bellugi.

Bellugi arrived in Bologna from Inter, bought by president Luciano Conti, as an elegant and very physical stopper, and was then sold to Napoli not before he was captain and represented Bologna also in the national team in Bearzot's Azzurri in Argentina ' 78.
