(ANSA) - MILAN, 23 FEB - A man who attacked passers-by in the street last night in Milan, armed with a large knife, was killed by the intervening agents.
The man, a Filipino with a history, perhaps in an altered state during the attacks, has lashed out several times against the agents one of whom, after trying to contain him, shot and killed him.
According to reports this morning by the Levolanti State Police of Milan intervened at 00.20 in via Sulmona, where several citizens had reported the man in the street.
The subject, a 45-year-old whose generality has not yet been disclosed, with precedents for crimes against the person espaccio, brandished a knife and according to the testimonies he tried to attack first a rider and then a man who came out of the door of a building.
Both managed to escape.
Upon the arrival of a first patrol, the man lashed out at the agents, who tried to contain his fury with handguns.
One of the two fell back, hitting his head and passed out.
At that moment a second patrol from 113 arrived and the man also threw himself against the other two agents.
One of the two, after trying to avoid it, fired a few shots, maybe two or three, in the lower part of the figure.
But the blows must have injured vital parts and in a few minutes the man died.
