They had a crucial role for economic continuity during lockdowns, and the government had promised to work in favor of these often precarious workers.
On Friday, the Ministry of Labor shifted into high gear on the issue of “second line workers”.
A report making it possible to define these professions more precisely was presented to the social partners.
It offers a list of 17 professions from 15 branches established on the basis of two criteria: exposure to the Covid-19 risk and presence on site during the first confinement.
There are professions in agriculture, construction, agrifood industry, handling but also transport vehicle drivers, cashiers, butchers, bakers, home helpers or even security guards and guarding.
According to the ministry, they represent around 4.6 million private sector employees.
