In protest, this Friday March 12, the day of the Césars 2021 ceremony, activists from several feminist collectives, including Les Grenades and Ni Una Menos, came to ask for the resignation of the boss of the CNC, (National Center of Cinema), in front of the establishment's headquarters (Paris XIVth).
Their goal: to be heard and to demand “justice”.
"We come to denounce the culture of rape and the impunity that reigns in the film industry, since Dominique Boutonnat, despite being indicted for sexual assault and attempted rape on his 22-year-old godson, remains in office," explains Cassiopée from Les Grenades Collective.
"We give him the Caesar of shame," said another activist, presenting a cardboard copy of the famous trophy.

Cinema: Dominique Boutonnat, boss of the CNC, indicted for sexual assault and attempted rape
“We were there last year to denounce the Sacrament of Polanski to the Caesars, we are here today to denounce the support of the Elysee Palace for Dominique Boutonnat, and we will be there tomorrow to denounce the other personalities accused of rape, because there are a lot of them, from Gérard Depardieu to Richard Berry, ”one protester fulminates.
This Friday, the Olympia welcomes the Césars, but without any guest.
In accordance with this protocol, the president of the CNC (National Cinema Center) will not be in the room.
An absence of weight that would have no official link with his indictment.
"There is only room in the room for the 150 nominated", assures the Academy of Caesars.

An award that prompted the departure of the ceremony for director Céline Sciamma, whose film “Portrait of the young girl on fire”, with Adèle Haenel, also received a prize.
