Rugby: 6 Nations; Smith announces XV for Scotland

Franco Smith, head coach of the national rugby team, has made official the formation that on Saturday at 2.15 pm local time (3.15 pm Italian time) will face Scotland in the fifth and final match of the Six Nations 2021 scheduled at Murrayfield Stadium.

It will be the match number 33 between the two teams, the sixteenth in Scotland with the direction of the match entrusted to the French referee Pascal Gauzere.


    Confirmed the enlarged triangle seen in the second half against Wales - unprecedented from the first minute - with Edoardo Padovani extreme and Bellini-Ioane on the wing.

First presence as a starter for Federico Mori who will form the pair of centers together with Brex, the latter deployed for the fifth consecutive time of the initial XV.

The keys to the median will be entrusted to Garbisi and Varney.

The third lines are confirmed with Michele Lamaro number 8 and Negri and Meyer completing the department.


    The Benetton Cannone-Ruzza duo lined up in the second line, while in the front line Riccioni and Fischetti will flank captain Luca Bigi.

David Sisi, Jacopo Trulla and Daniele Rimpelli will not be available for the match.

For the trip to Scotland, Fabiani, Ceccarelli, Zambonin and Braley will also be added to the group of players on the match list.

Space on the bench for Lucchesi, Lovotti, Zilocchi, Favretto - who could become the thirteenth rookie of the Smith management - Mbandà, Violi, Canna and Zanon.
