The renowned professor and plastic surgeon
José Juri
died at the age of 88
.
The news was confirmed by the clinic he had founded and by various medical associations that paid tribute to him in the last hours.
Juri was passionate about her profession.
In different interviews, he assured that he discovered his vocation as a child.
One of her favorite anecdotes was that she promised her first grade teacher
that when she grew up he would operate on her
.
In fact, he found it written in one of his class notebooks.
“In cosmetic surgery, knowledge is not enough.
You have to be born for it.
Like a concert artist or a singer.
With a gift
”, he detailed his vision on the specialties, in a note published by the Intramed site.
His name was linked to different figures of local and international entertainment, such as Susana Giménez and Verónica Castro.
Born in Norberto Riestra, a small town in the Province of Buenos Aires, he graduated from the CEMIC University School of Medicine.
After working in different hospitals, he founded and directed the Plastic Clinic and José Juri Foundation, located in Palermo.
He was also a full professor of the 1st Chair of the Faculty of Medicine of the Inter-American University.
Among other distinctions, he received the award for Best Work of the Year from the Argentine Society of Plastic Surgery (diploma and gold medal).

On the site of his clinic, it is noted that Juri was "the author of 20 original techniques and 150 published works in the specialty", as well as an honorary member of 20 scientific societies.
Two decades ago, the expert was implicated in a malpractice case, after being sentenced to pay 200,000 pesos to a patient who suffered paralysis in the shoulder and right arm after undergoing a face and neck lift in your clinic.
