Marc Marquez will not be back on track even in the first two MotoGP rounds of the year.
Not that it is an absolute surprise, the news was considered very likely, but now it has been made official by Honda.
In the first and second races of the year to be held on the Losail circuit in Qatar, on March 28 and then the following Sunday, the Japanese manufacturer of the multiple world champion will send the Spanish driver Pol Espargarò and the German Stefan Bradl to the track.
Marquez will therefore continue to focus on recovering from the broken humerus.
Bradl already replaced the Spanish champion last year.
"Racing with Honda - said the 29-year-old Espargarò, who competed on a Ktm in 2020 - is something that most people dream of and I can't wait to do it. I don't set myself a goal for the race if not to do the best we can. Let's put on a good show for all the fans who are at home, it's time to go for a run! "
