BARI - After Dad, distance learning, comes the 'Mad' project: remote exhibitions.

The initiative is from the Jatta National Museum which from Monday 12 April will give primary and secondary schools in Puglia the opportunity to virtually enjoy the 'Vasi Mitici' exhibition.

The exhibition, set up at the Swabian Castle of Bari, was supposed to open to the public this month but the epidemiological emergency forced the event to be postponed.

The Jatta museum has therefore decided to develop an alternative form of use which, in this period of uncertainty for the world of culture, focuses on innovation with a free initiative aimed at schools.

With the help of multimedia content, students will have the opportunity to experience the exhibition, appreciate the history of the protagonists of myths and legends portrayed on the vases, learn about the Jatta collection and its value for the territory.

During the course, divided into four thematic areas, students will also be able to interact by asking questions in chat and will be involved in creative workshops that will stimulate participation and curiosity.

"The Internet and social networks - says Claudia Lucchese, director of the Jatta National Museum - offer enormous potential for the dissemination and use of the museum heritage. We have chosen schools as the first guests of our exhibition, with the idea of offering an opportunity to strengthen the experience of distance learning. The health emergency, in fact, made it impossible to carry out school trips, which have always been an important moment in the didactic and educational path. In recent months we have observed how physical and virtual reality can coexist: effort experimenting with new communication strategies for cultural dissemination allows us to keep museums alive and renew the relationship with our public ".

Interested classes can submit a request by writing an email to drm-pug.museoruvo@beniculturali.it.

Virtual tours can be organized until June.
