More than 20,000 people demonstrated against the Corona measures in Kassel on Saturday, many participants did not wear mouth and nose protection and did not keep their distance.
The situation escalated and there were attacks on journalists and police officers.
Against this background, an Instagram story by Nena appeared two days later, which can be interpreted as clear solidarity with the demonstrators.
On several successive pictures of the demonstration, the singer wrote "Thank you Kassel" with a heart symbol.
She also thanked, among others, Xavier Naidoo for the music;
underlaid were the pictures of a new song by the singer, which recently appeared again and again in connection with conspiracy myths and controversial statements about the corona pandemic.
Nena also explained in the social network with regard to the discussion about possible easing of everyday life for vaccinated people that there will »continue to be no two-class society« at her concerts: »Whether you get vaccinated or not is your decision and must be made by everyone be respected. "
Nena had already sparked discussions last year with a puzzling post on Instagram.
“I have my deep faith in God.
Hence my trust in life.
And I have my common sense, which breaks down the information and scare tactics that are pouring in on us from the outside, ”she wrote in October.
In this way it is possible for her "not to allow herself to be drawn into the darkness hypnotized by fear".
As a corona denier, however, she did not want to be understood at the time.
"She doesn't take sides, but has an opinion and feelings that she primarily expresses in her music," the "Bild" quoted the singer's management team at the time.
At the time, those involved left it open whether their statements and requests related to Corona, life or only to their new album entitled »Light«.
