The Belgian race has traditionally been the forerunner to the most important races of the season.

On Sunday 4th April the Tour of Flanders will take place, on 18th the Amstel Gold Race, on 21st the Freccia Vallone and on 25th the Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

Great favorite for the victory is the Belgian rider Wout van Aert, 26 year old of Jumbo Visna, former cyclocross star (several times world champion) and world road silver, determined to take the title away from Danish former world champion Mads Perdersen, winner in the 2020 edition.

Among the most accredited outsiders the Czech Zdeněk Štybar, the Belgian Yves Lampaert and the Belgian Jasper Styven, fresh from the triumph of the Milan-Sanremo. Other competitors with good chances are the Italians Davide Ballerini, Sonny Colbrelli, Giacomo Nizzolo and Matteo Trentin, and then again the German John Degenkolb and the French Arnaud Demare.

Ghent-Wevelgem has reached its 83rd edition and after the unusual edition held in the autumn of 2020 due to the postponement due to the pandemic, this year it returns to its usual location: 254 km from Ypres to Wevelgem, with a very irregular route , and quite hard especially in the central part.
