Facebook has launched a new menu that allows personal, public and page profiles to restrict users from entering comments.

Changing the audience that can comment on a post should allow admins, according to the social network, to further control the conversation and reduce potentially unwanted interactions.

The same novelty is available for the management of brands, so as to ensure a respectful dialogue with the policies with only the people or pages tagged.

"Social media allows people to discuss, share and criticize freely and on a large scale, without the boundaries or mediation previously imposed by traditional media - explains Facebook's vice president of global affairs, Nick Clegg - But we are aware that there is need for collectively agreed ground rules, both on social media platforms and in society at large. "

With the novelty, when editing the post, after having published it, you can enter the menu by clicking on the three squares next to each one.

The icon in the shape of a message with the words 'who can comment on your post' will open three different options, with which you can choose whether to leave the comments open to everyone, only to friends or exclusively to the people and pages mentioned.

Together with the novelty, introduced globally, Facebook has brought to Android the ability to quickly switch between a view of the board in chronological order or based on the algorithm, which adapts to the user experience.

In the feed bar there will be a menu divided into three: Home, Favorites, Recent, with which to quickly access the various views proposed.

In the Favorites section, Facebook will indicate why it recommends following people, pages and groups, and which businesses those suggestions come from.

The update will arrive on the iPhone only later.
