On the occasion of the Syrian Arab Student's Day, the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students at Tishreen University organized today a sports marathon, with the participation of 150 male and female students.

And the first three places in the marathon, which was held for a distance of 3 km, were won by students of the College of Physical Education respectively, namely Hani Sayyouma, Hamza Daqduq and Husam al-Din Mahmoud Qudsiyeh.

In a statement to the SANA reporter, a number of students expressed their happiness with this participation that motivates young people to practice sports and interest in it, as the student Hamza Daqduq indicated that this participation came as a test of his capabilities as he practices short-distance athletics and is currently attending the national team's 400-meter tests.

The student called the sanctity of his fellow students to participate in the university sports activities that are organized on an ongoing basis and to hold competitions between university students to develop their athletic talents.

For his part, Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs, Dr. Walid Sidawi, said that this marathon is an annual activity held by Tishreen University on the occasion of the Syrian Arab Student Day and aims to enhance communication between university students in various faculties, pointing out that the university will spare no effort in order to stimulate sports and educational activities that benefit students .
