ROME - The tradition of eating fish on Good Friday wins over Covid again this year, for 6 out of 7 Italians, and this thanks to the e-commerce that is now depopulated and to the deliveries of ghost fishmongers that only come out once the order is received at sea. This is what emerges from a Fedagripesca-Confcooperative survey, which confirms that the custom of eating lean is respected more in the Center-South (62%) than in the North (38%), in particular by women (55%) and by over sixty (70%).
To change, however, compared to the past, are the methods of purchase that allow savings of up to 20% but also in consumption. The reduced menus for a few close friends, as required by law, in fact also affect the increasingly smaller and simpler pieces of fish to prepare in the oven, in a pan or on the grill.
