Two Ecuadorian girls aged three and five were lifted and dropped from the top of the US-Mexico border wall in the middle of the night but remained unharmed.

This was reported by the BBC, which also publishes the images recorded by a surveillance camera in which a person on top of the wall is seen accompanying the small ones down as much as possible, up to about half of the four-meter high wall, and then leaving them. to go.

The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) workers collected them across the border.

"On Tuesday evening, a Santa Teresa agent watching surveillance cameras observed a passeur who dropped two small children from the top of the nearly 14-foot-high border fence," CBP said in a statement.

The girls were taken to a CBP facility in Santa Teresa, New Mexico for evaluation by medical staff, and then transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

The CBP specified that the girls "remain in the custody of the agency".

US agents are working with Mexican authorities to identify those responsible.
