Alice Springs, the Imperial Juno of Helmut Newton, is no longer

TRIBUTE - Wife, muse, accomplice and legatee of the great Berlin photographer, this Australian has done work in her more private way. She died on April 9 in Monte Carlo at the age of 97.


It is Simon de Pury, spectacular “auctioneer” and figure of the art jet-set, who announced the news late Friday evening on his Instagram account (214,000 subscribers).

He is an outstanding storyteller.

In 1948, she married

Helmut Newton

and became his wife, his lover, his friend, his muse, his inspiration, his editor, his promoter for 56 years until his death, in a car accident at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.

They were a legendary couple and one of the greatest examples of artistic partnership.

All their life, they photographed each other.
