(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 25 - Pope Francis entered the procession of St. Peter's Basilica where this morning, on the fourth Sunday of Easter, 58 / a World Day of Prayer for Levocations, he presides over the mass during which he confers priestly ordination to nine deacons, six of whom came from the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary, two from the Redemptoris Mater Diocesan College and one from the Seminary of the Madonna of Divino Amore. The new priests for the diocese of Rima are six Italians (Salvatore Marco Montone, 32 / year old from Calabria; ManuelSecci, 26 / year old from Rome; Salvatore Lucchesi, 43 years old from Sicily; Giorgio De Iuri, 29 years old from Brindisi; Riccardo Cendamo, forty year old from Rome; Samuel Piermarini, 28, from Rome), a Romanian (Georg Marius Bogdan), a Colombian (Diego Armando Barrera Parra) and a Brazilian (Mateus Henrique Ataide Da Cruz).
Despite the restrictions on access to the Basilica due to the anti-pandemic norms, the ceremony no longer takes place at the Altare dellaCattedra, as happened throughout the last year, but at the Altarecentral, that of "Confession".
In the nave, some hundreds of faithful: all wear a mask, including the nine ordinands, in the front row, in white tunic.
