The nationwide emergency brake to contain the corona virus has been in place since April 24, 2021.
What are the regulations for garden centers and hardware stores?
Flower shops, garden markets and bookshops in Bavaria are allowed to open
Update from April 27, 2021
:
Flower shops, garden centers, nurseries and bookstores
are allowed in
Bavaria
open again regardless of the current Corona numbers.
This was reported by the German Press Agency (dpa) in the early afternoon.
Bavaria is thus implementing an exception rule in the new nationwide emergency brake regulation for corona hotspots.
The corresponding shops in Bavaria were allowed to open for a long time regardless of the seven-day incidence, i.e. the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, as did hardware stores.
In the end, however, the same rules applied as for all other retail stores apart from daily needs.
Hardware stores remain exempt from the new exemption.

Nationwide emergency brake: What does it mean for hardware stores and garden centers?
The corona pandemic continues to have a firm grip on Germany.
The regulations for hardware stores and garden centers during the lockdown * were handled differently depending on the federal state.
These are to be standardized for all areas by the Infection Protection Act.
After long debates it is now clear: The nationwide emergency brake has been decided.
You can find everything about the debate here.
But what effects does the new law have on hardware stores and garden centers?
Nationwide emergency brake - regulations for garden centers and hardware stores
According to the Infection Protection Act, uniform rules should apply to every district and every independent city as soon as the number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants rises over 100 within one week on three consecutive days. Then, for example, a household may only meet one other person. For the retail trade for extended daily needs, such as supermarkets, then the
number of customers
must be
limited depending on the size of the shop
. In addition, a mask must still be worn. The rest of the retail trade can then
offer
the already known
appointment shopping
with mask
up to a
seven-day incidence of 150
. If the incidence is exceeded, these shops have to close again.

"Even with a high incidence, the supply of the population with food, everyday consumer goods and essential services is reliably ensured," says the Infection Protection Act. "
Open remain
in the food trade, including direct marketing, beverage stores, health food stores, baby specialty stores, pharmacies, medical supply stores, drugstores, opticians, audiologists, gas stations, places of newspaper sales, bookstores,
florists
, pet supplies markets, animal feed markets,
garden centers
and wholesalers," according to the text. As a result, hobby gardeners still have the option of planting and sowing in the garden. "If the incidence is below 150, it will also be possible for all other shops
go shopping with an appointment and with a current negative test result
”, it continues.
Hardware stores *, on the other hand, are dependent on the seven-day incidence to be.
If this is below 150, the do-it-yourselfer still has the option of appointment shopping, with a negative corona test that is not older than 24 hours.
And the “Click and Collect” variant should also continue to exist.
Here, customers can choose the goods online, order them and then pick them up on site.
