Test concert in Paris: 5,000 people will meet on May 29 at the Accor Arena

INFO LE PARISIEN. The organizers of the giant test concert planned at the Accor Arena are preparing for this date. The event having been declared

After two postponements, the third date should be correct.

The test concert at the Accor Arena (ex-Bercy) should take place on May 29.

The event having been declared a national priority by the government a week ago, nothing should now prevent the Prodiss (the union of the main producers of shows) and the AP-HP Hospitals of Paris from carrying it out, under the aegis of the Ministry of Health.

This experiment, the largest in Europe in this scientific form, will bring together 5,000 people previously tested negative for the coronavirus, masked and standing in the Paris room, while 2,500 others will remain outside.

If it is conclusive, the producers will be able to consider a relaunch of large standing concerts at the start of the school year and define the sanitary conditions.

An operation costing 900,000 euros

"We have found the funding for the concert itself and are only waiting for those for the scientific part via the ministries," explains Marie Sabot, member of Prodiss and of the event organizing team.

The green light is only a matter of days, I hope, since the government has made it a national priority.

"

All the same, the Prodiss had to send an open letter on April 12 to Emmanuel Macron for this project called “Ambition Live Again” to be finally validated in high places.

“Mr. President, we need your help.

The call for help has apparently been heard since in the wake, the test concert was labeled national priority, which accelerates all procedures.

Asked Friday on BFMTV, Roselyne Bachelot got a little tangled up on the date of the test concert - she thought it would take place within two weeks - but she confirmed that "of course, it would take place".

"We are in the process of releasing the funding", she announced, while specifying that "the operation is extremely expensive: 900,000 euros".

Indochina and maybe other guests

For the time being, it is expected that the Indochine group will play that day with, perhaps, other artists. "We want to do it to help the whole profession, to demonstrate, as in Barcelona, Amsterdam, that going to a concert is not risky," its leader, Nicola Sirkis, told AFP recently. We are waiting for the signal from the authorities. "

The singer from Indochina refers to the many experiments that have already taken place in Spain and the Netherlands, the last of which in Barcelona made very positive conclusions on Tuesday, since none of the 5,000 spectators was infected during this concert masked standing and without distancing. “The results in Barcelona, made with great scientific finesse, are even better than what we thought, rejoices Marie Sabot, who was herself invited to the Catalan test concert a month ago. This is very good news for hoping to resume major concerts and festivals standing before everyone is vaccinated. "
