One and a half years after the jewel theft from the Dresden Green Vault, a suspect from the Berlin clan milieu was caught.
The man was arrested on Monday evening in the course of a search in Berlin-Neukölln, as the Dresden public prosecutor announced on Tuesday.
In the spectacular break-in of the Treasury Museum on November 25, 2019, the perpetrators stole historical jewelery made of diamonds and brilliant-cut diamonds of hardly any value.
Almost a year later, on November 17, 2020, the police struck with a major raid in Berlin.
She arrested three suspicious young men and found tools, hard drives, computers, cell phones, machetes, axes and alarm weapons.
A 21-year-old was arrested in mid-December.
His twin brother was on the run and has now been caught, making him the fifth suspected perpetrator to be caught.
