Hamburg is withdrawing some corona rules earlier than planned.

Among other things, outdoor catering and retail are allowed to reopen at the weekend, as Mayor Peter Tschentscher said.

The easing was originally planned for June.

In Hamburg, the so-called seven-day incidence on Monday fell below the mark of 50 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days for the first time since mid-October 2020.

On Tuesday it was 43.5.

Shopping is allowed to a limited number of customers according to the size of the shop, visitors must also submit their personal data for contact tracking.

The same applies to outdoor catering, where a maximum of five people from two households can sit at one table.

Negative corona tests are not required as long as the seven-day incidence remains stable at below 50.

In addition, so-called body-hugging services and practical driving lessons should be possible again.

However, negative corona tests must be submitted there.

According to the step-by-step plan of the red-green government, five people from two households should be able to come together again at Pentecost and the mask requirement in parks and green spaces will no longer be required.

On May 28th, theaters should reopen and concerts should be allowed.
