After the election period was extended for five hours, thousands of students from Damascus University and institutes cast their votes in the presidential elections within the university centers that they gathered in since the early hours of the morning to confirm that their vote was and is still influencing decision-making.

Imad Al-Omar, a member of the Executive Office of the National Union of Syrian Students, said in a statement to SANA during its accompaniment of the elections in the centers of Martyr Basil Al-Assad University that students from all colleges and institutes of Damascus University have come to the ballot boxes scattered throughout the university and the university city with its three clusters of 73 polling centers.

From the Applied College, student Ahmed Ashraf Safaf considered that participating in the elections supports the sovereignty of our country, while student Zeina from the School of Nursing at Damascus University indicated that she participated in the elections and chose whoever expresses it and meets her ambitions.

Student Manar Moein from the College of Arts and Humanities said: “Our participation in the elections expresses our love for our country, while students Rawan Zahreddine from the Sports Institute and Hassan Saqr from the College of Arts saw that participating in the elections is an important step for building the nation.

Two students Tala Hassan and Suzan Saleh from the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering considered that participating in the elections is a contribution to building the nation and that the youth component is the basis for building the future.

The two students, Mohsen Ghosn and Samer Sheikho from the Applied College, believed that participating in the elections is a national duty and we must be one hand and challenge all circumstances.

In the meantime, the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia, Alan Tadtyev, and the accompanying delegation, during their visit to the two centers of the University City in Mezze, accompanied the electoral process, the atmosphere that prevailed, and the organizational measures taken to control it and ensure its optimal functioning, and expressed his admiration for the great youth turnout to participate in the elections and considered them the hope for the future.
