More than 150 people are reported missing and are feared to have drowned in northwestern Nigeria after a boat loaded with passengers headed for a market sank in the local river.
"The capacity of the boat was not adequate for the 180 passengers it was carrying," local manager of National Inland Waterways, Yusuf Birma, told reporters, confirming that at the moment only 20 people have been recovered alive, while four are certain dead while the other 156 people on board are reported missing, with the fear of drowning.
