(ANSA) - LIMA, 07 JUN - With 92.7% of the votes scrutinized, the distance between Keiko Fujimori and Pedro Castillo in the results of the presidential ballot in Peru is increasingly narrowing, with the first candidate leading the second by a difference of only 0.19%.
According to data from the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), Fujimori, the leader of the right-wing party Fuerza Popular registers 50.09% of the votes against 49.9% of the candidate of the left party Peru Libre, a distance of about 31 milavoti while just over 7% of the ballots are missing.
The data seems to confirm the forecast of a "very tight technical draw" outlined by the projection made by the Ipsos Peru institute for America TV, however the company assigns the narrow victory to candidate Pedro Castillo with 50.2% over challenger Keiko Fujimori who reaches 49, 8%.
