But it is not only the grass bloom that is a problem for allergy sufferers.
Dock, grass, plantain: These plants have been in bloom for several weeks * and are currently causing runny noses and itchy eyes. The pollen concentrations in the air are stable, as reported by the German Pollen Information Service (PID). The situation is different with regard to nettles, linden and sweet chestnuts. These plants are currently increasingly scattering their pollen into the air, according to the PID.

But upcoming thunderstorms can even worsen allergy symptoms
, according to the PID warning.
“In connection with the high amount of grass pollen, when a thunderstorm lifts and in the first few minutes of the thunderstorm rain, significant intensifications of allergy symptoms are possible - thunderstorm asthma!
At this time, those affected should stay indoors with closed windows if possible and only ventilate their home or office after the rain has stopped for a while ”, so the recommendation of the pollen information service.
