A group of United Nations human rights experts sent a letter to the Pope expressing "great concern" over the allegations of sexual violence against children in Catholic institutions and asked the Pope to act.
The experts, who do not speak for the United Nations but report their conclusions to the organization, have asked the "Holy See to take all necessary measures to stop and prevent the recurrence of violence and sexual abuse against children in Catholic institutions, guarantee that those responsible are called to answer and the victims compensated ".
