Videos from south London are currently being posted on social media channels showing huge, dark billows of smoke rising over skyscrapers.

Around 100 firefighters are busy putting out a fire near Elephant and Castle station, as the London Fire Brigade announced on Twitter.

At least one man was injured.

According to the fire department, three shops under the railway arches and six vehicles are on fire.

According to the British news agency PA, the fire department believes that the fire could have broken out in nearby garages.

Several train connections were interrupted by the fire, the station was evacuated, and the emergency services blocked the surrounding streets.

According to initial assessments, the police did not assume that there was a terrorist-motivated act behind the incident.
