(ANSA) - MADRID, 09 AUG - A heat wave is also expected in the next few days in Spain, the first of this season in the Iberian country: this can be learned from a bulletin published today by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
The phenomenometeorologico should start on Wednesday and could last until Monday 16 August.
Aemet warns that thermometers could exceed 40 degrees in "large areas of the south, east and central half" of the country, as well as on the Balearic Islands. "We need a lot of precaution because the temperatures will be very high both day and night," said Aemet spokesman Rubén del Campo in a video, who also warned that the risk of fires will "significantly" increase. On Friday and Saturday, he added, in the area of the Guadalquivir valley (Andalusia) temperatures could approach 45 degrees. (HANDLE).
