Hospitalized for end-stage renal failure, at two months of life, a 4-year-old boy was saved from a kidney transplant connected to the pancreas, a technique never used on such a small patient already with a liver transplant. The intervention is the first in the world at a pediatric level according to the health workers of the City of Health of Turin who performed it. The new kidney, attached to the spleen vein inside the pancreas in the direction of the liver, produced urine already in the operating room, without suffering from the liver transplanted 3 years earlier.After only 2 days, and 4 years still in hospital, the baby is now feeds and plays.
