Because he forgot his cell phone at the scene and came back, a suspected car cracker was arrested in Frankfurt am Main.

The 26-year-old was in a strange car on Thursday night when he was caught by the owner of the car, the police said.

When he spoke to him, the man ran away.

While the car owner was still on the phone with the police, the suspect came back to the crime scene in the Nieder-Eschbach district.

The reason: he had forgotten his mobile phone in the car.

Probably stolen handbag too

The victim held the man until the police arrived and arrested the suspect.

The police also found an allegedly stolen women's handbag from the 26-year-old.

The man is now being investigated for attempted theft from a car, theft and trespassing, as a police spokeswoman said.

He will be brought before the judge.
