As part of their visit to the Russian capital, a group of Syrian students toured a number of Moscow landmarks, including the Kremlin building, Red Square, and the monument to the Unknown Soldier in Alexandrovskaya Park, which commemorates the heroism of Soviet cities in the Great Patriotic War against the Nazis.

The members of the group, which includes 46 male and female students from different Syrian governorates, who arrived yesterday evening in Moscow, visited the headquarters of the volunteer group for humanitarian work of the “Brothers in Fighting” organization, and were briefed on the educational activity carried out by this group and galvanized the patriotic determination of the Russian youth by re-reading the heroisms and sacrifices made by their ancestors in the war against Nazism.

In this meeting, the Syrian children presented folk and patriotic songs in the Russian language and won the admiration of the audience. They participated in a cultural competition to explore the knowledge of the Syrian students in Russian history and the Russian language. Then they continued their activity with a river tour on board a ship in the Moscow River, where they learned about the cultural and architectural landmarks of the Russian capital.

In interviews with SANA’s correspondent in Moscow, the supervisor of the Syrian delegation, Median Hassan, said that the group of students participating in the trip are students who are learning the Russian language in Syrian schools.

He added that the Russian officials, who in Syria got to know the abilities of these students, submitted a proposal to the Syrian Ministry of Education to invite them to visit Moscow, during which they get to know Russia and its capital in a practical way and in coordination between the Ministries of Education in Syria and Russia, pointing out that the purpose of the trip is educational and entertaining and meets the desire and hopes of Syrian students to visit Russia. .

Hassan referred to the efforts of the Ministry of Education in facilitating this activity, explaining that the visit will last for five days.

In turn, the student, Naya Abdel Hamid Diop, stressed the importance of this trip and said: “In our visit today to the Kremlin, we listened to the tourist guide who told us about the history of Russia and the stages of its development, and we also introduced her to the history of Syria and the history of Damascus, the oldest capital in history, and this embodied the cultural exchange between us.”

For his part, student Hadi Idris from Basil Al-Assad School for Distinguished Students in Homs said that the trip program includes getting to know the city of Moscow, noting the close friendship relations between Syria and Russia.
